Kanoko's bags are made from antique kimono fabric and are all hand made by Aya - a Japanese bag designer/tailor. The oldest kimono fabric is from early 1900's, and styles and shapes are based on traditional Japanese bag patterns, and are arranged and modified into modish fashion items in combination with contemporary materials. Kimono is a traditional Japanese costume, as is well known to the world, and its attraction derives from its texture, traditional natural colors and amazing designs. Kanoko's bags are designed to make the most of Kimono's charm, and they can be coordinated with not only Kimono, but also with the newest fashion.
Since fabrics are very limited, all bags are one-and-only, and completely custom made. If you would like to order, just contact me and ask for stocks of fabrics at first.
If you have your own kimono or favorite clothes that are too old to ware, I'll be able to re-make them to handbags or other items.
